PM YASASVI Top Class Education in Schools supports meritorious students from OBC, EBC and DNT communities who study in schools selected for the scheme. It covers education from Class 9 through Class 12. Eligibility depends on the approved school, household income, academic merit and available scholarship places; belonging to an eligible category alone does not guarantee selection.
The education grant can meet tuition, hostel and other approved school charges within the scheme’s annual limits. The published limits are ₹75,000 for Classes 9 and 10 and ₹1,25,000 for Classes 11 and 12. These are ceilings for eligible expenses rather than an unconditional cash payment of the full amount.
The 2026–27 application window shown on the National Scholarship Portal runs from 22 October to 30 November 2026. Students should confirm that their school participates, prepare their category and income evidence, and coordinate with the school’s nodal officer for online verification. Students must not claim overlapping government assistance for the same costs already covered by this scheme.
