Donate for Buddha

Sarnath is a place located 10 kilometres north-east of Varanasi near the confluence of the Ganges and the Varuna rivers in Uttar Pradesh, India. The deer park in Sarnath is where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma, and where the Buddhist Sangha came into existence through the enlightenment of Kondanna.

Sarnath and Isipatana:

Write whatever you want here. Then press the Quill It button on the right to paraphrase it.Before Gautama (the Buddha-to-be) attained enlightenment, he gave up his austere penances and his friends, the Pañcavaggiya monks.[6] Seven weeks after his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, Buddha left Uruvela and travelled to Isipatana to rejoin them because, using his spiritual powers.

Gautam budha while going to buddha he have no money, as said he flied and crossed the river.

Buddha and SARNATH: 1st Teaching

The Buddha went to Sarnath after the illumination at Bodh Gaya, and he preached his first speech in the deer park here to set in motion “The Wheel of Dharma.” It is one of the most sacred places since the Buddha’s teaching flowed first in this place.

The Buddha met the five men at this site who were his companions of previous austerities. When she came to meet the illuminated Buddha, all she saw was an ordinary man. “There comes the mendicant Gautama” they said. “He is surely worth noting.” When they reminded him of his earlier vows the Buddha replied, “Austerities are only a confusion of mind. One can no longer understand the common things of life in the exhaustion and the stupor of mind they are leading, even less the truth which lies beyond the senses.

I have abandoned luxury or asceticism extremes. The Middle Way, I discovered. “When the five ascetics heard this they become the first followers of the Buddha.

Gautama Buddha began learning not to discuss but to benefit and to benefit people. He explained the midway way, the Four Noble Truths that avoids extremes and prescribed the 8-fold way.

The four truths of nobility are:

1. Suffering is there ;

2. The cause of suffering ;

3. The reason can be removed and

4. It is possible to get rid of the causes.

The Buddha has prescribed a 8-fold path for removing the causes: correct speech, correct actions, right livelihood, correct efforts, right focus, proper attitude and good view.

On the site of the deer park in Sarnath, the Monastic tradition flourished over 1,500 years. A column of 15,24 meters in height, four lions as its capital, which is now in the museum of archaeology, was erected in the third century BC. The lion represents both the imperial rule of Ashoka and the Buddha kingship. The capital of four lions was accepted as the symbol of the modern Indian Republic.

Dharma – Chakar – Jina Vihar, built by Kumardevia, wife of king Govinda Chandra who ruled Benares from 1114 to 1154, was the latest and largest monastery built before the invasion by the Muslim Muslims. In 1194 AD, the Muslim conqueror Kutubuddin Aibak raised the town to the earth. Sarnath became a forest of rubble underneath that remained the historical ruins. Only the Dhamekha of the sixth century remained of the two great stupas that ornate the town.

The Dhamekha Stupa

This is the most conspicuous structure at Sarnath. Colonel Cunningham bore a shaft from the top centre of the stupa and discovered a stone tablet on which an inscription is written with the word Dhamekha, and mentions that this is the spot where the Buddha delivered his first sermon. Dhamekha seems to be a distorted form of Dharma Chakra which means turning the wheel of the Dharma.

The five ascetics who left Gautama Buddha in Bodh Gaya once used to live in huts are also said to be here. Ashoka built the original stupa. The stupa is presently 31.3 m tall with a diameter of 28.3 m. The lower part of the stupa has beautifully sculpted stones. The design consists of a large band of Swastika, carved with a finely chiselled lotus wreaking over and beneath the swastikas in different Geometrical patterns.

The Dhamekha stupa is the sacred place where Buddhism’s voice was heard for the first time. This place is visited by many dignitaries of Buddhist countries to circumscribe this holy stupa and to worship the Buddha. The Buddhist Tibetans circumvent it singing ‘ Om mani padme hum. ‘ The Buddha’s first speech was about “law wheel.” The wheel is a symbol of Samsara, the eternal cycle of life, life after life, because of unending longing and longing.

Precautions to be taken While visiting Budha Circuit:

You should put your headquarters in Patna, so not only do you have good rail and air connectivity but you will also find easy accommodation.

One day, BodhGaya is just about 111 kilometers from Patna. A car should be the preferred mode of movement. Private taxis from Patna can easily be used. The trip from Patna to Bodh Gaya takes about 3,5 – 4 hours with a short break. The reason for this is that the roads are good, but are not very broad and that there is little traffic. So you can’t drive the stretch very quickly.

The Maha Bodhi Temple and the Maha Bodhi Tree, both on the same campus, are the main attraction of Bodh Gaya. The visiting time should be an average of 2 – 3 hours. In addition, there are numerous monasteries and an 80 ft Buddha statue in the neighbourhood. The convents you want to visit should be chosen. In general, your visit should take 4 – 5 hours rather than more. The visit to the temple is free, but your footwear and mobile phones must remain in a locker. It’s also free of charge. At the main gate, take a government guide.

Suggestions and Precautions :

Try to bring your water, snacks and tea to the road, if possible, because there are not a lot of restaurants or food on the way. You’ll find it all once in Bodh Gaya. The same is true of the women’s toilet. July – August is off – season in Bodh Gaya and so most restaurants have closed because of the small number of tourists.
