Apparently, regardless of ’83’s scale and scope, makers did not go for a festive launch. Revealing the actual purpose behind choosing the date, Shibasish Sarkar, CEO of Reliance Leisure, shares, “It was on June 25, 1983, that India gained the World Cup. We’ll begin the movie on June Four and count on it is going to do justice when it comes to paying a tribute to the actual heroes of 1983!” So, with ’83’s launch on June 4, the makers are hoping that it will likely be a blockbuster by June 25 such that the success of the film coincides with India’s victory in ’83.
Directed by Kabir Khan, ’83 options an ensemble solid of Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar, and Amrita Puri. The movie will even star Deepika Padukone as Ranveer’s onscreen spouse. By the way, ’83 will likely be Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s first onscreen outing after their marriage ceremony in 2018.
